BOOKING CONDITIONS
Conditions applying to short and medium-term summer guests.

These conditions do not apply to student reservations, trainees, professors, MITACS-GLOBALINK participants, and groups.

The following conditions apply only to reservations made through our booking platform. Some exceptions may occur for reservations made through external platforms such as Booking.com or Expedia. These will be displayed on those platforms.

These Conditions apply, without restriction or reservation, to any purchase of hotel room reservation services and related services ('the Services') offered by the Establishment. The Customer is required to take note of them before making any reservation. The choice and purchase of a Service are the sole responsibility of the Customer.

Deposit and Payment

For reservations made from February 21, 2024: To confirm the reservation, a security deposit equivalent to the amount of the first night is charged to the participant's credit card and is non-refundable in case of cancellation or modification to another date. The remaining total payment will be due in person upon arrival. In the case of contactless arrival at the customer's request, payment will be taken by the establishment on the card used for booking.

For reservations made before February 21, 2024: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Free modification. In case of cancellation, the first night is non-refundable. Online payment can be made by credit card only (Visa, Mastercard).

Any reservation or payment that is irregular, ineffective, incomplete, or fraudulent for reasons attributable to the customer will result in the cancellation of the order at the customer's expense.

Modification and Cancellation

For reservations made from February 21, 2024: The first night is non-refundable in case of modification.

For reservations made before February 21, 2024: Free modification up to seven (7) days before arrival. For a modification less than seven (7) days before arrival, the first night is non-refundable in case of modification.

In case of complete cancellation of the stay, the first night is non-refundable.

In case of early departure, fees equivalent to one night will be charged unless the customer notifies the establishment at least 24 hours before departure.

If the customer has benefited from a special rate based on the length of stay (weekly or monthly rates, for example), any modification of the reservation will result in the recalculation of the total reservation price. This could therefore result in the loss or modification of the discount obtained.

A no-show 24 hours after the scheduled reservation date (i.e., at 3:00 PM the next day) is equivalent to a cancellation by the customer. The first night is non-refundable.

Each reservation is nominative and cannot under any circumstances be transferred to a third party, whether for free or for consideration, or for commercial purposes.

Arrivals

All arrivals can be made from 3:00 PM on the scheduled arrival day.

All arrivals must be made during our opening hours and in person, until 9:00 PM.

A customer wishing to arrive after our opening hours and use our contactless check-in service must inform the Establishment as soon as possible and before 6:00 PM on the day of arrival. An email containing the retrieval code for the secure "Expedibox" locker will be sent on the same day of your arrival between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Departure

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the customer must vacate the room by 11:00 AM on the day of the end of the reservation. Otherwise, an additional night will be charged.

Keys must be returned to reception or in the express checkout drop located next to the reception.

A lost key is charged at $150. No duplicate key will be issued without payment.

Departure without returning the keys to the designated areas is charged $20 per day, up to a maximum of $160. Billing of such fees stops on the day of fee return.

Other General Terms of Sale

The customer agrees and undertakes to use the room for its intended purpose, for personal use, respecting the premises, the neighborhood, or the establishment's regulations. Also, any behavior contrary to good morals and public order will lead the hotelier to ask the customer to leave the establishment without any compensation and/or without any refund if payment has already been made. If no payment has yet been made, the customer must pay for the consumed nights before leaving the establishment. Our rooms are non-smoking. Pets are not allowed.

The customer must be at least 18 years old on the day of booking.

The French language shall prevail. If the booking conditions are translated into a foreign language, the French language shall prevail in case of dispute, disagreement, difficulty of interpretation, or execution of these conditions and more generally concerning the relations between the parties.

Force majeure refers to any event beyond the control of the parties that is unforeseeable, insurmountable, and external to the parties, preventing either the customer or the hotelier from fulfilling all or part of the contractually agreed obligations. Each party shall not be liable to the other party for the non-performance of its obligations resulting from a force majeure event. It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends, for the parties, the performance of their reciprocal obligations and that each party bears the burden of the resulting costs.

The photographs presented on the website or those of the partners are purely indicative. Although every effort is made to ensure that the photographs, graphic representations, and texts reproduced to illustrate the establishment provide as accurate an overview as possible of the accommodation services offered, variations may occur, particularly due to changes in furniture or possible renovations.

The establishment shall not be held liable for the non-performance or improper performance of the reservation in case of force majeure, acts of third parties, unforeseeable and insurmountable events, acts of the customer, including internet network unavailability, inability to access the website, external intrusion, computer viruses, or in the case of prepayment not authorized by the cardholder's bank.

Hyperlinks may refer to sites other than the ZUM Auberge website, which disclaims all responsibility for the content of these sites and the services offered.

We offer WIFI or wired access allowing customers to connect to the internet. The customer agrees that the computer resources made available to them by the hotel are not in any way to be used for the reproduction, representation, provision, or communication to the public of works or objects protected by copyright or neighboring rights, such as texts, images, photographs, musical works, audiovisual works, software, and video games, without the authorization of the rights holders.
Conditions applying to trainees, MITACS participants, and guest professors.

These conditions do not apply to student reservations, group bookings, and summer clients.
Documentation Required
​
You must provide, as soon as possible, an original signed letter from a UdeM employee confirming your academic affiliation for a traineeship at the University of Montreal or affiliation as a professor or guest professor at the University of Montreal.

Deposit and Payment

Stays of 7 days or more and less than 31 nights: A non-refundable deposit equivalent to one week's stay is charged at the time of booking. No reservation can be confirmed if this payment is declined.

Stays of 31 nights or more: A non-refundable deposit equivalent to 31 nights' stay is charged at the time of booking. No reservation can be confirmed if this payment is declined.

The total amount of your reservation (minus the deposit) will be charged to your credit card 15 days before your arrival. This amount is non-refundable in case of cancellation once it has been debited.

Modification and Cancellation
Modifications are free of charge, up to 15 days before arrival.
In case of cancellation, any amount already debited is non-refundable (the deposit initially and the total amount 15 days before arrival).

Arrivals During the Summer Period (May 1st to August 23rd)

All arrivals can be made from 3:00 PM on the scheduled arrival day.

An email containing the code to retrieve from the secure "Expedibox" locker will be sent on the same day of your arrival between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. If you arrive between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM and do not receive the code, you can simply go to reception.

Group Terms​

Booking conditions for groups may vary. All reservation and occupancy conditions will be sent to you at the same time as your rental agreement. A signature will be required for the acceptance of these conditions. ​
